An Evening at Versailles

at Jasna Polana in Princeton, New Jersey.

A celebration of the musical  and culinary arts of France, the event features an intimate chamber concert followed by a sumptuous buffet
and silent auction.
The music begins at 5:15 p.m.

The Program 
This theatrical entertainment features actors Bernadette Quigley & Paul Hecht and Dryden's chamber musicians in words and music from the court of Louis XIV. An ensemble of violin, oboe, bass viol, lute and harpsichord will perform music by Lully,
Couperin, and Marais with dramatic readings from the letters and diaries of Élisabeth Charlotte (sister-in-law to the king) and
the Duc de Saint-Simon.

The Dryden Ensemble, a professional, non-profit chamber music ensemble,
specializes in music of the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries
 played on period instruments in the stylistic conventions of the time.
